Products description

Ferodo DS Uno rear brake pads for Alfa 4C and 4C Spider

DS Uno is the latest heavy duty racing material from Ferodo Racing. It has replaced DS2.11 and is already race proven in GT, touring car, Formula & rally. The technical objective for the material was to provide a high friction output, whilst improving pad and disc life and to offer excellent modulability throughout the brake event. The latter means the risk of wheel lock is significantly reduced compared to other pads with the same high nominal friction coefficient, without any loss of output. This is the ultimate feel-good pad.

The main characteristics are:
  • heavy duty semi-endurance material
  • applications - touring car, GT, single seat, rally
  • average friction coefficient 0.48 over working temperature range of 200°-700°C
  • very controllable torque output
  • very kind to discs
  • long life
DS Uno pads are not recommended for street use and may only be ued in combination with high-carbon sports brake discs.
Without electric pad wear indicator.
No homologation, not street legal.

The price is for the complete axle (4 pads).

Important information: bedding of race pads
The aim is to bring the pads to full race temperatures, but slowly (tooquick bedding results in glazing). This is done by a series of lapswhere full speeds may be attained but lighter braking pressures areused (i.e. the driver applies the brakes earlier). It is important that thepads are allowed to cool after the bedding process before racing.Ideally the pads will arrive at temperatures in excess of 500°C duringthe bedding. Smoking pads during the cool-down are not a cause forconcern.

Perform at least 15 trial brake applications, initially with reducedpressures (50% of the normal that might be used for that same brakeapplication were it to occur under race conditions) building up to fulldecelerations after the 15 applications. To shorten the procedureapplications can be made along the straights as well as at corners.

On completion of the trial applications, return to the pit lane. Inspectthe surface of the brake pads from the two wheels that have beenworking the hardest. There should be evidence of contact over thefull pad area, but without glazing. The pads are now ready to race.Whilst it is recommended that pads are inspected after bedding,if time does not allow this and paragraph 1 has been carried outappropriately, so long as a short period of time has elapsed to allowthe brake system to cool (ideally to below 100°C – this might take inexcess of five minutes), the pads will be ready to race.
