Polyurethane (PU) bushes are roughly 30% harder than the usual bushes used by the car industry, this is due to the compound from which they are made of. With the use of PU bushes you will notice that the handling is slightly more stiffer and has a rather better road holding, not only that the bushes age more slowly and you can tell the difference between those original bushes that go soggy after some time in use, the handling is more like driving in a pudding, the PU bushes have a longer lifespan, the handling and tracking stay constant, this is seen through the tyre wear.

You will also find out that Alfa Romeo only sell them in kit form as complete wishbone, very expensive.

There is as always a small disadvantage, as the bushes are harder than the original, it sends all those humps and bumps direct to the chassis, for those of you who love comfort and can still buy the original bushes then I would advise them to stick to them. For those of you who like the more sporty style of driving or the bushes are no longer available, then I would advise the PU bushes, in the long run they save money and sets your mind at rest if you know that the bushes are still available in the PU form. Because of the composition of the bushes there could be a minimal increase in the noise level, I suggest that you turn the music up slightly to compensate.
